Todd Chrisley just sparked a backlash for coming up with a new way to justify his bank fraud and tax evasion crimes. And the Chrisley Knows Best alum stunned by proclaiming his belief that God sent him to prison to help others. He even proclaimed himself as “blessed” for supposedly getting this mission.

Todd Chrisley – Believes Prison Involves His Mission From God

Chrisley Knows Best alum Todd Chrisley claims that his prison sentence results from God giving him a mission to help others. And Todd thinks that his mission involves improving jail conditions by spending time behind bars. The comments from Todd come via his attorney Jay Surgent, who talked with TMZ about his client’s religious beliefs.

And the Chrisley Knows Best alum’s attorney shared that Todd experienced “gross negligence and such total disregard for human life and decency from both the staff and just the entire corrections system.” The complaints come from Todd’s experience at FPC Pensacola in Florida.

But the reality TV star described himself as “blessed” to get a way to publicize what he views as horrible problems that he and his fellow prison inmates face. Todd has repeatedly alleged that prison officials have mistreated him amid his time behind bars.

And the Chrisley Knows Best alum also wants to create programs and provide resources for inmates. However, no word as yet on where Todd will get the money for these projects. But the Chrisley Knows Best alum also complained that prison officials treat inmates cruelly.

However, a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons responded to Todd’s claims of cruel conditions in prison. “While we decline to comment on anecdotal allegations, we can emphatically assure you the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all individuals in our population, our staff, and the public. Humane treatment of the men and women in our custody is a top priority.”

As for whether Todd’s wife Julie Chrisley also believes that Godd arranged for her prison sentence, no word as yet. After the court ruled them guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion, Todd received a 12-year sentence. And Julie received a 7-year sentence. However, their sentences got reduced, with Todd getting two years off and Julie one year off.

As for what social media thinks about Chrisley’s claims? One responded that Todd’s belief that God sent him to prison to help others made him laugh. “So I guess it helped me,” reasoned the fan.

And another wrote, “Only a delusional egotistical narcissist could make a claim like that. Is that how Todd justifies his fraud?!” But one fan recommended that Todd get a reality check, noting that rather than God, “the judge sentenced you to prison because you stole.”
