A royal expert has revealed the quality that King Charles admires most about Princess Kate, as he understands more than most the responsibility of raising the heir to the throne.

However, as she comes from a more ‘normal’ and stable family background, Kate is able to impart the best of her upbringing onto her own children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The Princess has also dedicated herself to improving early years learning for all children, with His Majesty greatly admiring his “darling daughter-in-law” for the “solid family network” she has created.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! magazine: “I think Charles admires and appreciates the solid family network she [Kate] has created for William.

“The King is devoted to his grandchildren, George, Charlotte and Louis, and photographs show that he has an easy relationship with all three. I’m sure he is very proud of the way Kate is bringing them up.”

The combination of what Kate has learned from researching early childhood and her stable, grounded family will help her raise the royal siblings to be well-adjusted and confident in the support of their parents.

Ms Bond added: “William and Kate have been keen from the outset to allow their children to live as normal a childhood as possible. Kate is in a perfect position to show them what ‘normal’ life looks like.

“Her family form a secure and happy unit away from palaces and castles, servants and hierarchy.”

Although Princess Diana tried to give her own sons a sense of normality, and was a devoted mother, as an aristocrat herself with divorced parents it was not always easy for her.

As the royal expert pointed out, Kate has had to learn “what it means to be royal”, and she will be able to pass that down in good time to the future King, her son George.

When Prince William was at Eton he would regularly meet with his grandmother Queen Elizabeth for tea at Windsor Castle, where she would talk to him about his responsibilities as heir.

Now it seems King Charles is already engaging George in similar conversations, as His Majesty values being able to pass on his wisdom to the younger generations.
