Transcript: “In a recent episode of her podcast ‘The Southern Tea,’ Lindsay Chrisley featured none other than the beloved Nanny Fay as a guest star. The episode, titled ‘Nanny Fay Doesn’t Argue With,’ immediately caught the attention of Chrisley family fans. Many were left wondering why Lindsay chose to spell her grandmother’s name in such an unconventional way. Did she perhaps not know how to spell it correctly?

  • Federal prosecutors said Todd and Julie Chrisley asked his mother to lie on the stand.
  • The allegations came at a sentencing hearing for the couple’s fraud convictions.
  • The defense said there was no evidence showing the couple influenced Faye Chrisley’s testimony.

Addressing this curiosity right off the bat, Lindsay explained her unique perspective. As Todd’s first child, she had the privilege of being Nanny F’s favorite grandchild for a splendid 15 months, until the arrival of her brother Kyle. Lindsay proudly pointed out that, as the eldest grandchild, she was the one who initially coined the nickname ‘Nanny Fay.’ This endearing moniker has stuck with their grandmother ever since.

However, Lindsay candidly admitted that she has always spelled it with an ‘i’ instead of the more common ‘ye,’ as in ‘Faye.’ This spelling discrepancy among the Chrisley clan was due to the influence of her siblings, who adopted the ‘e’ spelling. Consequently, the name ‘Nanny Fay’ gained prevalence.

Nanny Fay herself clarified the proper spelling, asserting that it has always been ‘Nanny Fay’ with an ‘i.’ She even emphasized that when she personally writes her name on cards or gifts, she consistently uses the ‘i’ spelling. Unfortunately, fans have been using the ‘e’ spelling for years.

It’s worth noting that Todd, Julie, Savannah, Chase, and Grayson all spell it with a ‘y,’ following Todd’s lead. Given this family-wide spelling choice, it’s unlikely that fans will suddenly switch to the correct spelling just because Lindsay brought it to everyone’s attention.

Peters also accused another witness, Donna Cash, of perjuring herself at trial.

Cash, a former employee of the couple’s, testified that she sent fake financial documents to loan companies and lied about the health of the company at the direction of her boss, Mark Braddock — who eventually turned the Chrisleys in.

She stopped fabricating documents when the Chrisleys’ family home was on the brink of foreclosure, she said.

“I did some bad things but that was one thing I wasn’t going to do,” Cash testified at trial through tears.

Ultimately, it seems Lindsay’s intention was to ensure she didn’t face any backlash for what some may have perceived as an unconventional spelling.
