It has long been claimed that Suits actress Meghan’s famous messy bun “broke Royal protocol”, and now some fans are up in arms after Kate donned a similar look recently but wasn’t called out for it. While at an engagement in Sittingbourne, England on Wednesday, Kate sported a low bun, which was very similar to a hairstyle Meghan wore and received backlash for six years ago.
And now, social media users in their masses are pointing out the stark differences in reporting and comments from social media users with Kate’s up-do compared to Meghan’s six years ago. Meghan seemed to receive hate for her hair-do, while Kate has been praised. Taking to Twitter one person penned: “Now Kate Middleton can have the same Bun hair style that Meghan was breaking protocol when she was there?”
Someone else added: “When Meghan wore her hair, she broke royal protocol. But when Kate copies the same, it’s fashionable.” While a third wrote: “The ‘messy bun’ is a loosely made bun hairstyle where hair carefully frames the face. It had been described as a breach of royal protocol when Meghan wore it. However, Kate’s extremely similar bun is described as ‘elegant’.”
