From now on, just know that Prince William will not only be highlighting good causes, he will be involved in building and shaping them.
This means that instead of merely raising awareness for a cause, he will be actively contributing to it. And he’s already doing this by way of his £50 million Earthshot Prize.
Prince William Promises To Dig “Deeper” Into Causes Close to His Heart
Prince William made a bold move at the third annual Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in Singapore when he promised to change tactics from the established norm of the modern Royal Family.
He did appreciate the brilliant spotlighting the Royal Family has been doing so far. However, he says he wants to “go further” than that by delving deeper into worthy causes.
He said: “I care about so many things and previously the family have been very much spotlighting brilliantly and going round and highlighting lots – I want to go a step further. I want to actually bring change and I want to bring people to the table who can do the change if I can’t do it.”
One of these causes include raising awareness for homeless people, which he actually did by stepping out incognito and selling copies of the Big Issue last year. He also launched Homewards to help with the issue of homelessness.
He added: “I think the thing that ties it all together for me is about social leadership. That’s what I’m trying to find my way in.”
As the Prince of Wales, King Charles was the patron of more than 400 charities.

And that is why he launched homewards this June with the promise that he will build houses, and provide “mental support, all the employment and the education” for the homeless.
“So it’s all these wraparound services, it’s kind of going deeper and longer than it is the case of just having loads of causes that you sort of turn up and keep an eye on.”
He went on to note that being focused on particular areas will help one avoid being spread too thin enough to not have a real impact. And that is why he’s chosen his areas of focus to be environmental preservation, mental health issues and homelessness.
